Terra Long (Canada) is a filmmaker whose work playfully engages with the materiality of celluloid by way of botanical curiosity, excessive landscapes, deep time and cultural imaginaries. She studied at the Simone de Beauvoir Institute at Concordia University and received her MFA from York University. Long is a member of the Independent Imaging Retreat Collective (The Film Farm) in Mount Forest, Ontario and the Film for Artists Collective on the Toronto Islands. Her films have screened at venues around the world, including the Toronto International Film Festival, Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival (CPH: DOX), Ann Arbor Film Festival, EXiS (Seoul, Korea), International Film Festival Rotterdam, Edinburgh International Film Festival, and two previous editions of Media City Film Festival. She has also edited numerous feature-length films which have gone on to win awards internationally, including Landfall at DOC NYC (2020). Long was a 2016 Mobile Frames Filmmaker in Residence. She lives and works in British Columbia.

Twin portraits, an immediate love between new friends considering motherhood under the roof of a fierce matriarch, and Cheru the dog shortly after birthing five pups. A swim, a birth, a love and a loss developed in Hibiscus and Lavender and saturated in deep blues.
