MEDIA CITY 2017: Guest Services Coordinator (GSC)
Position Start Date: This position has been filled.
Festival Dates: August 2–5, 2017

Nature: Stipend (Paid); Full Festival Pass, letter of recommendation from Director / Board (upon request)

The Guest Services Coordinator works closely with the Program Director, and Festival Assistant to ensure that all festival guests have lodging and transportation. The GSC manages the following in consultation with the Program Director, and Festival Assistant:

• Artist & Guest packages
• Flight schedule
• In-town hospitality (including local billets, hotel accommodations, and otherwise)

The Guest Services Coordinator also works in partnership with the Volunteer Coordinator to manage artist’s travel to and from the airport, and ensures that there are volunteers manning the guest table. Other admin. tasks may be applicable from time-to-time.

Payment: Managed by Administrative Director

Position importance: The GSC is the “face” of the festival and the direct liaison with all international guests. This individual ensures that guests are comfortable, know where they’re staying and how they will get home. Most of all, the GSC makes sure everyone is having a good time.

LETTERHEAD

MEDIA CITY 2017: Volunteer Coordinator (VC)
Position Start Date: This position has been filled.
Festival Dates: August 2–5, 2017

Nature: Stipend (Paid); Full Festival Pass, letter of recommendation from Director / Board (upon request)

The Volunteer Coordinator works closely with the Board of Directors, Program Director, and Festival Assistant to recruit, schedule and manage all festival volunteers. The VC manages the following in consultation with the Program Director, and Festival Assistant:

• Recruit volunteers & communicate with volunteer pool
• Manage Volunteer Meetings
• Devise scheduling of volunteers for all aspects of festival presentation & execution

The Volunteer Coordinator also works in partnership with the Guest Services Coordinator to recruit drivers to manage artist’s travel to and from the airport. Other admin. tasks are applicable. • Public Volunteer Meetings take place every Monday in July 2017.

Payment: Managed by Administrative Director

Position importance: The VC is the direct liaison with all festival volunteers. This individual ensures that all areas requiring volunteers are covered, including tech, hospitality, marketing and promotional material distribution, ticket sales, etc.

LETTERHEAD

MEDIA CITY 2017: Social Media Coordinator (SMC)
Position Start Date: Immediately (flexible)
Festival Dates: August 2–5, 2017

Nature: Stipend (Paid); Full Festival Pass, letter of recommendation from Director / Board (upon request)

The Social Media Coordinator works closely with the Program Director, Festival Assistant and Festival Photographer to effectively promote festival events on social media platforms (Twitter, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram).

• Creation of text, selecting still and moving images for public postings
• Liaison with Photographer to ensure proper audio / visual coverage of all events
• Promotion of festival screenings in Windsor-Detroit

The Social Media Coordinator also works closely with the Program Director, Festival Assistant, and Photographer to reach online audiences for Media City Film Festival’s 22nd section edition.

Payment: Managed by Administrative Director

Position importance: The SMC manages online content, leading up to, and throughout each day of the festival. Where applicable, the Social Media Coordinator will work with a crew of volunteers to collect, file, and post relevant and exciting information related to the organization’s artistic and public programs.
